Remote RN Telephone Triage (NYS license required)

Schedule & Compensation

• Shifts: (4) 10-hour shifts, afternoons 3 PM - 1:30 AM, rotating weekends
• Salary: $34-$35 an hour with overtime available
• Benefits: Excellent medical benefit package and more
• Training: Remote training for 6-8 weeks, Monday-Friday, with variable hours (8 AM - 4:30 PM or 12 PM - 8:30 PM)
• Location requirement: Must live within 2 hours driving time of the WNY area

Role Overview

We are a fully remote 24-hour On Call Center receiving incoming calls for clients in need of immediate medical attention. We provide assessment, guidance, and disposition to the appropriate level of care, working closely with RNs and providers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls from contracted clients
• Assess patient health status and recommend appropriate level of care based on clinical judgment, guidelines, and protocols
• Develop plans of nursing service appropriate to patient health care needs
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications and maintain proper telephone communication skills
• Make critical independent decisions and prioritize appropriately
• Document all calls and actions taken into the patient's medical record
• Utilize technology and communicate assessment outcomes to healthcare team members
• Adhere to ethical, legal/regulatory, and accreditation standards

Qualifications

• AAS in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred, not required)
• Unrestricted New York State Licensed RN
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a clinical hospital nurse in ER, critical care, or med/surg, OR 2 years of experience in RN telephone triage
• Current BCLS required
• Current Infection Control Certificate required
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations recommended
