Clinical Triage Nurse, Work From Home
Sutter Health is hiring a remote Clinical Triage Nurse to provide advance clinical telephone support and patient assessment. The role involves managing patient dispositions, coordinating care, and assisting physicians within an EMR system.
Job Description
Position Overview
Aids patients in obtaining the correct level of care with the appropriate provider at the right time. Provides advance clinical telephone support to Sutter Health patients, other callers, in-basket and other remote support for physicians, and limited in-clinic support.
Responsibilities
- Uses the nursing process, input from physicians, and Sutter Health's approved telephone nursing guidelines and protocols to maintain highly efficient operations.
- Assesses patients' needs, appropriately dispositions cases, and collaborates with providers to renew electronic prescriptions.
- Identifies hospital and community resources, consultations, and referrals, and performs nursing follow-up activities.
- Assists physician partners with message management and communications within the EMR system.
- Ensures the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be a resident of Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Montana, or South Carolina.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum internet speeds of 15 mbps download and 5 mbps upload for remote work.
- 2 years of practical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency room/department.
- OB/GYN experience is helpful.
