NP/PA - Virtual On Demand (Remote) - 7 on 7 off (12:30pm-10:30pm)
Ochsner Health is seeking a remote Virtual On Demand Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work a 7-on-7-off schedule from 12:30pm to 10:30pm. The provider will manage hospital medicine patients in a collaborative care model.
Job Description
This role works in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff caring for hospital medicine patients on floors of the Medical Center. Operates under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management and emergency stabilization of critically ill patients
- Provide patient education, discharge planning, and teaching for residents and medical students
- Utilize approved medical practices in the delivery of patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing (for NP) or Bachelor's/approved training program in PA medicine
- Current APRN License or PA License in the state of practice
- ANCC or AANPCP certification for NP (FNP, Adult/Geriatric, or Pediatric) or NCCPA certification for PA
- BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Eligibility for Prescriptive Authority
