LVN - Nurse Consultant

Education / Licensing Requirements: High School GED and Licensed Vocational Nurse Certificate / Registered Nurse required. Experience Requirements: 3 years' clinical nursing experience required. 1-2 years' telephonic nursing experience preferred. Position Overview: Responsible for providing consultation to patients providing a clinical review of their disease, current and future therapy, side effects management, as well as, documenting ongoing surveys and progress notes. Positions reporting to this position: Direct reports: None Essential Skills/Experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Organizational skills Proven time management skills Strong understanding of commercial and government insurance plans Team player Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task Characteristics Self-directed Sense of urgency Critical thinker and problem solver Empathetic and understanding demeanor Organized, detail oriented; catches errors early Ethical; respects confidentiality Responsibilities: § Contacts patients to provide clinical consultation regarding disease management, therapy, and medication side effects. § Documents information from telephone calls ensuring a high quality of care. § Ensures patients on specific therapies receive an in-depth welcome call in accordance with manufacturer requirements. § Reports adverse events to drug manufacturers per regulations. § Completes prior authorizations for specific therapies as needed. § Knowledgeable regarding Senderra’s community values and demonstrates them daily. § Participates in staff meetings, conference calls, and other meetings, as needed. § Performs other incidental and related duties as required. Working Conditions: § Fast-paced environment. § Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant. § Requires normal hearing levels (corrected). § Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
